Camaro / Firebird / Nova Frame Brackets

Customer

I have a 1974 Nova. It had manual brakes and I purchased one of your 11" brake booster, masters cylinder, & proportioning valves through summit racing. It installed perfectly. No problems with this part. I also purchased a SS brake line kit part #XKT7201 from *****. I realize that it is for a 73 power brake disc setup but it is the same sub-frame as the 74. The line kit does not appear to come close to meeting the existing mounting locations on the outside of the sub-frame where the caliper flexible lines mount to the outboard sub-frame. Right hand side it follows the cross member close but when it gets to the frame rail its just a straight end. It looks like it should go up and over the frame rail and point down to connect to the flex line. I do not have the old lines to be able to compare. Any help would be great. Thanks Rick ***.

Hi, did you also do a disc brake conversion kit or is it a factory disc brake car? 74 Novas (actually 69 Camaro/Firebird and 69-74 Novas) had a different bracket location for where the flex line and hard line meet on drum cars as opposed to disc cars. Disc brake cars had the bracket up on top of the frame and drum brake cars had the brackets down lower on the side of the frame. You could buy our RSBK69 which would relocate your brackets to the factory disc location. Thank you.
